We’ve started going through our Christmas repertoire, ready for our Christmas Singouts. We’re learning a new one – African Noel. It’s lots of fun, lots of rhythm, and not too many words to learn! The rhythms do get a bit complicated in the middle, but we’re getting there.

We also sang a new Christmassy warm-up song about one mince-pie, two mince-pies and fairy lights going pop. Nice and simple!

What a weekend we had. Such fun, a wonderful trip and we did ourselves proud - definitely an audience favourite as we were different to most of the other choirs and lots of fun - we were even mentioned on Twitter in the same post as Theresa May!

Not only was it the Choir Festival but we also caught the start of the Derry Halloween celebrations - wow. Derry is a wonderful city and we'd definitely like to go back.

Our Christmas preparations will start at our next full rehearsal on Thursday 1 November. If you are interested in joining us for our Christmas sing outs then please come along to rehearsals (first week is free) and we'll be starting our new Christmas song Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree.

Remember 7.15 at Watcombe Primary on Moor Lane , Torquay.

We are really excited to be visiting Northern Ireland from 26 - 29 October to take part in the City of Derry International Choir Festival.

The festival is billed as being "Created as a joyous celebration of choral music-making, the festival provides opportunities for competitive and non-competitive participation for singers across a wide range of styles, ensembles and ages." There are some really great choirs taking part so not only are we looking forward to sharing our sound but we can't wait to hear other choirs too.

A few weeks ago we were joined for a day of coaching and fine tuning by the wonderful Tracey Bailey of Acapella Sound in Cornwall so we hope we can put all of her tips to good use in Ireland.

Whether or not we are placed in any competition, we are looking forward to spending the weekend together in a fantastic city and no doubt there will be much impromptu singing over a pint of Guinness!

Happy New Year and welcome to 2018. Remember, if you love singing and would like to join a wonderful group of ladies, come and join us on a Thursday evening.

We had some fantastic sing outs just before Christmas and the year went out with a bang!

7 December saw us serenading our canine and feline friends at Animals in Distress. Some humans listened too!

On the 9th we visited some friends at Southlands and Ogwell Grange care homes and helped get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

The year of sing outs ended with our annual visit to All Saints church in Babbacombe for their carol concert. Joyous as ever.

So roll on 2018 and let's see what you can throw at us!!
